The Kent and Medway Engineering, Design, Growth and Enterprise (EDGE) Hub is an ambitious development to provide a holistic and inclusive approach to addressing regional skills shortages and sector diversity, whilst promoting participation and social mobility in higher education. KM EDGE Hub are a partnership-based, industry-led
initiative to drive economic growth locally and nationally. The KM EDGE Hub aims to be a response to these specific local issues of;
developing sustainable inclusive and diverse pipeline of engineering talent from schools to HE to industry
meeting demand for locally grown graduate talent industry co-designed curriculum that can support local and national industry requirements.
identified through research and consultation by building an expanded talent pool of academic and students to support collaborative projects for industry
continued professional development of industry workforce to meet current and future business engineering aspirations
developing high-quality engineering and design career opportunities for people who would otherwise be under-represented in the field of engineering and science.
boosting the local economy through the additional capacity and talent to support innovation, research and knowledge exchange in locally based companies, enabling them to grow and adapt to change.
The EDGE Hub Project Manager manages the coordination and administration of these activities, including project management activities of the EDGE Hub to ensure the SELEP and Office for Students project annual KPIs are being met. The activities are diverse but have cross cutting themes and cross-cutting working with many departments and Faculties across University. They will coordinate the employer and schools/college engagement activities, ensure sustainable engagement with all area of activities.
Person
Educated to degree level of equivalent, the post holder will have significant project management experience. Some experience of managing events, businesses and product relationship management, research and development project management would be desirable.
