Membrane Technology & Research, Inc. (MTR) is a world leader in membrane separation technology.  Our business areas include the petrochemical, refining, power, and natural gas industries.  MTR is a small company located in Newark, CA with additional sales offices in Belgium, and China.  MTR manufactures membrane materials in our Newark location and designs gas separation systems to utilize membrane separation technology for our customers.  MTR is working on exciting new carbon capture technologies and is looking for a highly motivated project manager/engineer to work with our team of talented engineers and researchers.  This project manager will be responsible for managing our new carbon capture projects.
Responsibilities:
Define and manage the project scope
Create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project to ensure each project is completed within the given timeframe
Manage the project budget with regards to project resources, equipment purchases, and outside contractors
Specify, review and comment on process equipment including gas blowers, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and others
Determine and manage project resources required for each project
Manage resources from different departments within the company and external subcontractors
Create a Project Charter, Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure, and Project Closeout Plan for each project
Create monthly project update reports for all stakeholders within the company
Issue purchase order requisitions and manage delivery progress of purchased parts
Review and approve invoices received from outside contractors and vendors
Manage changes in scope including cost, resources, and schedule
Continually monitor and report project performance
Manage all incoming and outgoing project documents
Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Create and distribute Minutes of Meeting
Requirements:
5-8 years of project management experience
Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work in a team setting
Experience in risk identification and management
Experience in managing projects over $10M
Mastery of Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel programs
Preferred Requirements:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certificate or equal
Experience in the power, petrochemical, refinery, or natural gas industry
Experience in rotating equipment (fans, compressors, and pumps) industry
Salary Range:
Salary ranges for MTR positions are dependent on the level of education, number of years of relevant experience the candidate has, and what other MTR employees in similar positions with a similar skill set are earning. We estimate the range for this position to be between $110,100 to $151,000.
