Profile

My client is a top notch international MEP Consulting Engineering firm. They are seeking an HVAC Mechanical Engineer who can lead Project Management for the Miami office. They are seeking someone with previous MEP Consulting engineering experience who can lead a group of engineers and designers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Management of schedule and budgets for a multitude of projects
• Responsible for client communications
• Should have a knowledge of technical terms and be able to have a good rapport with outside partners
• Executes action items
• Collaborate and coordinate with all trade departments
• Manages shop drawing logs and tables, timely response to RFIs
• Manages QC and deliverables as well as deadlines
• Assist with business development
• Design HVAC systems for projects.
• Lead the technical development of large and complex projects in Commercial, Government, Academic, Healthcare or Science and Technology market sectors
• Effectively develop and manage project designs from initial concept through design documents, construction documents and close-out
• Develops mechanical plans, specifications and inspection reports as needed on assigned tasks
• Technically involved in the resolution of design problems that may include performing filed investigation or inspections
• Knowledge and experience with mechanical calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layout, hydronic systems systems and construction documents.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET school is required
• PE License required
• Minimum of 10 years Project managing and experience designing HVAC systems.
• Experience leading HVAC teams on technically challenging projects, working in dynamic team environments.
• The preferred candidate will have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
• Customer service perspective with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
• Familiar with local and national building codes
• Subject matter expert in engineering software for design, documentation and coordination software (e.g. Trace, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD)
• LEED accreditation
