IT Project Management Jobs description

Project management refers to planning, organizing, and managing the operations, staff, resources, deadlines, and profitability of projects. IT project management jobs include project manager jobs, team leader jobs, IT director jobs, software development manager jobs, software development lead jobs, senior IT manager jobs, and senior director of IT jobs, among others.

The general duties for such positions include ensuring that the projects undertaken are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner with optimal utilization of available resources and ensuring that client expectations are met and exceeded. IT project managers may also advise or guide programmers or software engineers regarding technical issues, problem areas, troubleshooting, or debugging.

An applicant for an IT project management job needs to have a BS degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or another engineering discipline. He or she should be able to use one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C, C++, ASP, .NET, SQL, MySQL, HTML, and XML. Project manager positions may require candidates to have four-plus years of relevant experience.
