UPS Supply Chain Solutions is currently seeking a TMA III/Senior Export Operations Manager to impact the business by providing exemplary service to external clients. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in complying with the EAR, ITAR and the sanctions programs administered and enforced by OFAC, along with Project Management experience.
This TMA III/Senior Export Compliance Manager is a resident subject matter expert within their functional area for global export operations, serving in a project management role by engaging clients on complex export compliance issues. He/She strategizes and collaborates with clients to identify opportunities for improvement with in export operation, drives change and process improvement internally and externally for the client, and performs daily operations for client needs. The TMA III/Senior Export Compliance Manager supports jurisdiction, classification and licensing determinations; provides license application assistance/guidance; drafts and submits (when applicable) Commodity Classification Determination Requests (i.e.; CCATS) to BIS and assists with Commodity Jurisdiction Determination for submission to DDTC; provides in-person and web-based training; conducts Export Compliance Assessments (self-audits); and provides other export compliance services to both internal and external clients as well as U.S. and foreign government officials, as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assists internal and external clients with jurisdiction, classification and licensing determinations
Assists clients in obtaining licenses and other authorizations, namely from BIS and DDTC
Conducts internal commodity jurisdiction determination (CJ) reviews and, when applicable, preparing and submitting formal CJ review requests
Conducts export compliance reviews
Provides clients with guidance related to disclosing and correcting matters of non-compliance
Provides project management support as per client contract requirements
Provides export compliance training
Performs due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions
Creates export compliance policies and procedures
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in functional area(s) (jurisdiction/classification/licensing determinations, etc.)
Demonstrated initiative, positive attitude and commitment to personal, team and company goals
Forward-thinking and possesses the ability to identify process improvements
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail
Strong research, analytical, verbal/written communication, customer service, and time management skills
Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access, if necessary)
Strong knowledge of U.S. or non-U.S. export controls, including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations, and the sanctions programs administered and enforced by OFAC
Minimum of five (5) years of general office experience - Preferred
