Position Summary: This position provides overall Project Management responsibility for assigned major innovation projects and cost savings opportunities that contribute to business growth and efficiencies. Responsibility also includes providing project management support to existing product changes. Leadership skills in working with a cross-functional team through roadblocks and issues that would impede progress are required. Demonstrated ability to influence across business units and effectively coordinate external and internal resources is needed along with a proven project management track record leading and delivering large, complex projects. The successful candidate will serve as mentor and an example for best in class project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Exercise fundamental, sound project management techniques and work flow process when executing assigned projects
Build project plans using MS Project and WBS structures, able to clearly outline objectives, timing and risks
Communicate and align key resources at all levels of the organization on assigned projects
Act as a best in class Project Management example for the organization and subject matter expert
Development of Project Management guidelines and a protocol or screening tool for the business
Support training events on project management ideally suited for Tyson Foods
Act as a mentor to other parts of the organization who need project management help or information
Prepare Time To Market KPI's, tracking and present to leadership and maintain tracking boards
Report out key project management metrics to various functions and levels
Proven experience and a strong background successfully completing large & complex projects on-time and within budget
Experience in managing and driving change within a complex organization
Periodic travel may be required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, food science, marketing or other related discipline
Formal certification in Project Management (from PMI or equivalent Project Management Association) a plus
2-5 years’ experience as a project manager, delivering large, complex technical projects CPG or related industries
Advanced PC skills using Microsoft Office products and MS Project, able to generate graphs, presentations and charts
