Job Overview
The Role
My client, a public sector entity is seeking an experienced and skilled Project Manager to join their Dublin City Centre office. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position.
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overall project management of projects relating to the development of specific Programmes. This is a varied role with multiple requirements including project management, people management, stakeholder management and service development and delivery.
Tasks and Duties
Project Management
The planning, commissioning, delivery of business system projects and changes.
Management and accountability of project related budgets and approvals and reporting of key project workstreams.
Communications with all project stakeholders on status, issues, risks with a focus on prioritisation of agreed critical path items, ensuring effective risk management is in place, providing clear direction on ownership and accountability as necessary.
Service Development & Delivery
Ensure the approach applied by the team reflects a strong commitment to customer experience and service excellence - both internally and externally.
Investigate service cross-programme and cross-function project management issues, consulting with key stakeholders and users, surfacing and resolving critical project and portfolio interdependencies.
Ensure clear deliverables, KPIs and performance metrics are defined, captured, understood, monitored and achieved.
People Management
Ensure good individual and team management structures are in place to support performance/staff management and development.
Delegate work and ensure effective relationships in a team-working context whilst positively influencing the team.
Ensure adherence to the highest standards of health and safety and to all internal policies and procedures which support the promotion of a positive environment for occupational safety, health and welfare.
Stakeholder Management
Identify relevant stakeholders in PMO activities.
Creation of a stakeholder Management plan
Establish effective relationships around the organisations engagement model and ensure the necessary structures and agreement are in place with relevant business units and directorates as appropriate, and their managers.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
4 years professional experience with relevant operations and project management knowledge
Strong experience of developing high performing teams
Experience of directing customer service / account management services
Experience of negotiating with senior management or senior Government officials in relation to programme/project delivery.
Ideally would have substantive knowledge or direct experience of current early year's programmes, early years' service provision and early learning and care policy.
Quality auditing and improvement experience and expertise
Third level qualification - Level 8 or higher
