Responsibilities
Join the team advancing strategic projects that impacts millions of beneficiaries for the Department of Defense's leading healthcare contractor! The Project Management Lead manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. The Project Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
The Project Management Lead designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project. Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20% Project Definition and Planning:
Use interview skills, critical thinking, and general business knowledge to establish and document project scope and requirements. Communicate with leaders and key associates to understand the needs and perspectives of stakeholders. Develop a task-level project playbook and timeline for execution.
10% Resources and Communication
: Work with functional area leaders to identify, develop and gather the resources to complete the project. Communicates with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Develops and manages the communication plan based on the needs of the organization and the project/program.
50% Project Execution:
Leads cross-functional teams in preparing designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, external contractors. Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones. monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
20% Strategy and Process Guidance
: Begins to influence department's strategy, designs, communicates, and implements an operational project/program plan for completing the project to ensure the strategic priories are being delivered; takes action to resolve problems and minimize delays; Assist the Director of the PMO and/or business leads in developing communications for presentation to leaders, including the Operations Committee, meet week, and Portfolio reporting. Consults and provides guidance on best in class Project Life Cycle processes including project management and business analysis processes.
Required Qualifications
Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.
Bachelor's degree
3 - 5 years of Project Management experience
Experience with Portfolio/Program Management
Ability to lead diverse personalities in a matrix
Experience leading a team

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Federal Government Contract experience
PMP or equivalent certification
Work-At-Home Requirements
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
