Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to adhere to, develop and manage the execution of best practices, to guide the Product/Engineering organization through various stages of the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, seasoned Program Manager who will own and drive complex programs for the Product/Engineering group.
Expertise in making functional and non-functional strategic decisions, displaying innovation to mitigate different phases of risk, cross-team management, coherent communication, and developing controls are some of the daily activities that will be needed to support multiple programs.
The candidate should be able to successfully, work independently, have technologist level exposure, and display transparency from all levels of coordinated teams.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the Product/Engineering organization through the various stages of the defined development methodology,
Understand, support, and implement Agile best practices for SCRUM/Sprint management, estimating, and planning activities,
Has the ability to coach and consult on strategic process improvements, adherence, and training support,
Manage multiple programs and/or corporate initiatives,
Direct programs with cross team effort to continue consistency and predictability,
Build and gain partnerships with key stakeholders and SME’s,
Can plan and plan for risk at the project and program level,
Develop and maintain monitors and controls to support improvement metrics, KPI’s, and eventual OKR’s,
Work successfully with distributed teams and sustain morale for planned and unplanned efforts,
Project transparent communication at all levels and and be prepared for questions,
Strategically plan for process and delivery while minimizing tactical risks.
Skills/Qualifications
****CUSTOMER FACING EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree in a technical or business field is strongly preferred, or an equal combination of education and experience
Someone who describes themselves as a proven program/project manager with a passion for driving complex projects to completion. PMP/PMI, CSM, CSP, SAFe certification is an added bonus.
Someone who operates with a high degree of autonomy with minimal supervision; collaborates with their manager and team on specific issues requiring escalation.
10 years of software program/project management experience. A combined history of product management, engineering work, and customer support experience (or a software engineering degree) are ideal.
Expertise with standard project management tools, practices and procedures.
Deep experience with Agile and/or other iterative development methodologies.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships and collaborate with variety of personalities and styles.
Experience managing projects with remote/geographically dispersed team members.
Someone who has a strong technology foundation (Desktop & Mobile Web, REST APIs, IaaS Cloud Platforms, CDNs, SaaS and PaaS Operations, distributed storage platforms and big data analytic), and enjoys researching new applications and customer trends.
