OpenShift is looking for a Site Reliability Operations Manager. This person is responsible for the day to day availability of all OpenShift services at Red Hat. As a leader you are responsible for measuring, maintaining and improving site availability. This includes growth, cost containment, personnel management, overall site stability and managing planned/unplanned outage scenarios. In OpenShift, we take pride in our online service. Responsibilities:
Lead and grow a team of engineers and administrators to maintain the overall health of OpenShift Online Services
Own health, reliability, and availability of all OpenShift services and create and maintain policies to accomplish that goal
Oversee a regular release schedule for OpenShift
Focus on automated monitoring and recovery systems instead of personnel response for outage scenarios
Closely coordinate with teams in engineering needs and best practices related to new features and technologies in OpenShift Online
Work with operations, engineering, marketing and other business partners to meet the needs of OpenShift and Red Hat
Oversee postmortem analysis during site incidents (security, availability, or otherwise)Identify areas of concern including risk analysis on a regular basis
Closely track budget needs and capacity planning with team leads
Manage pager duty, on-call rotations and escalation paths
Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years experience managing engineering teams
Comfort managing engineers in different geographies
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and encourage individual advancement
Ability to do technical dives into systems, storage with senior level engineers
Experience with project management, sticking to deadlines and previous successes
Understand how rapid prototyping works and how to fail quickly
