This is a key position in the RES ecosystem since the PM is the front person for the projects. He or she is responsible for budget estimating, schedule coordination, project planning, and overseeing design plans and calculations, permitting, construction administration, baseline studies, and surveys. PM II is generally assigned to several mid-sized projects with around $2m budget throughout California, therefore extensive experience working in the State is necessary.
Responsibilities
What your day-to-day might look like?
50% of the time you will be overseeing the successful planning and execution of environmental projects. You will do preliminary site investigations and data collection for new projects. You will then prepare the project scope, schedules, and budgets, and coordinate delivery of design plans, calculations, reports, with ecological design and restoration/construction teams. Over time, you will be checking and reviewing project deliverables, coordinating internal and external resources for the execution of the project, and delivering QA/QC. Finally, you maintain updated and accurate internal and external project reporting. Be ready to showcase your strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organization during the interview, as these skills are paramount to being successful!
25% of the time you will be working on environmental permitting for new and existing projects, including mitigation/conservation bank instruments, Section 401/404 permit applications, environmental assessments, in coordination with regulatory agencies in the state of California.
25% of the time, you will advance new and existing client relationships in coordination with the sales team and provides sales support on new project opportunities. You will also assist the General Manager and Senior Project Manager with the preparation of RFP responses and selecting consultants.
Qualifications
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, or similar field
3 years of Project Management experience
Strong work ethic and ability to get the job completed with tight timeframes and difficult conditions
Excellence in oral and written communications
What will make you stand out?
Experience with stream restoration and/or wetlands.
Experience using project management and scheduling software.
Proficiency in GIS and/or AutoCAD.
