Manager, IT Program Management Office
Position Summary
The Project Management Office (PMO), Manager is responsible for providing direct daily management of project managers in the IT /CE PMO. The PMO Manager works in collaboration with stakeholders, IT/CE leadership and team members to ensure successful delivery of projects, programs and products. The PMO Manager ensures the PMO is staffed with experienced project management professionals and that the IT/CE PMO processes, tools and capabilities align with industry best practices and meet the needs of the
organization.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Leverages experience in formal project management methodologies to contribute to the creation, development and deployment of effective PMO processes, tools and technologies.
Ensures project and program managers have the structures and capabilities to effectively deliver projects and programs to enable delivery of product roadmaps to all clinical and corporate functions.
Contributes to the execution of governance processes with stakeholders to ensure effective prioritization of initiatives.
Recruits, develops, retains and inspires a talented team of project managers.
Manages and leads team to achieve organizational goals.
Encourages staff empowerment, maintains an open door and fosters cross-team and department collaboration.
Actively mentors project managers to constantly improve their capabilities and performance.
Addresses team member concerns and issues in an effective, timely and consistent manner.
Manages technical resource capacity and allocation.
Acts as a technology leader and change agent, working with customers to align with strategic imperatives, and provide the data needed to measure the imperatives.
Prepares cost analysis, budget plans and proposals as needed.
Monitors and provides oversight and hands-on guidance when needed, to resolve escalated IT issues
Ensures visibility of risk and issue resolution and mitigation plans and status to all stakeholders.
Effectively communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to staff regarding services requests, projects and
initiatives.
Effectively participates in the requirements gathering process for new business requests. Collaborates with stakeholders to define requirements, appropriate metric definition, review periodic builds, and testing with the customers participate for review and sign off prior to moves to production.
Assists stakeholders by guiding key initiatives through the defined phases of managerial assessment and approval.
Build and maintains relationships across IT/CE to ensure that delivered services and end-user productivity goals are understood and exceeded.
Demonstrates and applies critical thinking skills to provide moderately complex analysis and evaluation of systems, processes and workflows to ensure solutions are cost effective and meet needs.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Maintains knowledge of and compliance with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. policies, procedures and company-sponsored annual programs such as compliance training, performance review and merit planning.
The PMO Manager manages activities related to and in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
Maintains current knowledge of HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality standards to ensure both vendor and internally developed software are compliant.
Qualifications
Education/Training
Bachelor's degree required. Associate's degree and two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section). High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of directly related work experience may also substitute for the Bachelor's degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section).
Licensure/Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is required.
Agile Scrum Master certification.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of information technology experience is required, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a project manager leading moderate to complex technology projects in a structured PMO environment.
