Project Manager

Profile

Will work in a large software development team, providing leadership and management for software development initiatives.
Major Responsibilities Include:
*Creating project work plans/budgets to meet changing needs and requirements.
*Facilitate communication between development teams on a daily basis and serving as a channel for the resolution of logistical or technical roadblocks.
*Working with all key departments and technical resources that participate in projects, ensuring that assigned tasks are completed within parameters of the business plan.
* Working directly with users to translate business requirements into functional requirement specifications for technical design and development.
* Managing overall project plans.
*Participating in project evaluations, design review sessions, and data requirement meetings.
*Analyzing releases/changes to determine effect on current applications processes and operations.
*Make recommendations for business process design and re-engineering.
*Working directly with clients to obtain and document project/program requirements.
*Write Business Requirements Document (BRD).
*Working with both clients and the technical project managers, will create a project schedule that will be used to set client's and internal stakeholder's expectations.
*Mentor junior members of the project management team.
*Provide leadership across programs and clients.
Requirements:
*5 years experience managing software development projects
*5 years experience writing business requirements documents
*5 years experience in software development
* BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
*Excellent knowledge of project management methodology, techniques and skills required to effectively manage scope, schedule, costs, communication, resources, quality and risk
*Excellent knowledge of the Project Management Life Cycle and the Software Development Life Cycle
*Excellent verbal and organizational skills
*Superior analysis, problem solving and teamwork/leadership skills
*Proficiency in MS Project and other project management software tools
*PMP preferred but not required
