The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. seeks to hire a Manager of Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives.
Reporting directly to and working closely with the Dean of the College, the person filling this role will be charged with helping the CAS leadership team implement new initiatives that enhance the mission of the college as the liberal arts core of the university and position it to lead as a 21st-century exemplar in higher education.  


The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the complex issues that challenge higher education and a commitment to innovation in the liberal arts within a research-intensive environment. The position requires the ability to discern opportunities, build bridges and build consensus, and high levels of collaborative, strategic and organizational management skills that will permit the resolute pursuit of agreed-upon plans to realize initiatives.


Duties include:
Collaborate with the Dean and her executive staff to drive new initiatives forward and realize their implementation;
Review strategic opportunities for growth, improved cycle time, and direction by contrasting the current state with best practices and innovative initiatives being undertaken at comparable institutions both nationally and internationally
Prepare presentations and strongly advocate for action reflecting results of institutional research on best practices and innovation
Ensure that project plans are in place, implemented, timely, on budget and produce the agreed upon deliverables
Membership and active participation in the Deans Executive Staff through twice weekly meetings and on-going networking


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have a Masters Degree in Publication Administration, Education, or similar field, six to eight years of relevant experience in market research and networking related to higher education.


Required skills include:
Experience in market research and networking. Strong project management experience
Exceptional oral, written, and visual communication and presentation skills;
Detail oriented; advanced computer/technology skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities; excellent written and verbal skills, and experience with research, data analysis and fact checking;
Must have administrative experience related to higher education. This experience should be related to strong knowledge in infrastructure, financing models, pedagogical direction and leadership
Proven track record and significant experience developing new initiatives and managing change;
Ability to think nimbly and connect ideas and practices across fields of knowledge and thereafter to craft initiatives that further the CAS mission based on that level of understanding and synthesis;
Commitment to maintaining a work environment that places a very high priority on collegiality, is outcomes-oriented, and efficient, respectful and DEIA centered;
Well-developed empathy, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated high level of professionalism, discretion/ability to maintain confidentiality, organizational efficiency, multi-tasking capabilities, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
Demonstrated ability to work independently, effectively structure projects, prioritize time and task sequences while focusing on strategic outcomes that are timely and focused on all elements of the CAS mission.


Preferred Skills Include:
A background in Public Administration, Higher Education and/or Project Management.
