What’s the role?

Project Developer originates, de-risks, and delivers renewable project development opportunities in the Onshore Power Infrastructure team. Candidate will be a leader that works well with external and internal partners so that opportunities are delivered profitably and on-time to notice-to-proceed (NTP).

More specific responsibilities include:


Grow the pipeline of opportunities.
Explore and pursue best opportunities to expand pipeline.
Negotiate and close project development agreements with partner(s).
Assess and quantify commercial, legal, technical, political, etc. risks (via due diligence).
Evaluate and align on economic inputs, including capex, devex, opex, yield, etc.
Mobilize a multi-disciplinary internal team, including legal, finance, engineering, etc.
Secure support for initial investment decisions.
Deliver projects to notice-to-process (NTP) and meeting required economic hurdles.
Deliver priority opportunities in pipeline to agreed milestones.
Track and report on the progress of opportunities (e.g., activity schedules).
Manage projects to minimize pre-NTP feasex and value at risk, and to plan spend.
Ensure partners and suppliers comply with HSSE, E&C, and general business principles.
Secure bankable land, grid, and permit(s) on-schedule.
Negotiate and secure revenue (e.g., CfD, PPA) and asset management agreements.
Work with engineer so projects meet standards and are economically optimized.
Work with finance advisor so projects meet economic hurdles and proper risk/reward.
Work with lawyer so agreements meet internal legal requirements and are bankable.
Work with EPC manager to hand-over project at NTP and successfully taken to COD.


What we need from you?

We’re keen to speak to commercially minded individuals with relevant work experience in the renewable power sector. A university degree is required.

We also hope you have experience in the following:


Experience in negotiating and closing deals with developers and/or landowners
Experience in and managing development agreements with project developers.
Experience in delivering opportunities to NTP, including managing permitting process
Experience in optimizing project economics (e.g., Capex, Opex, IRR, NPV)
Experience in managing grid, including working with grid network and system operators
Experience in managing legal and technical consultants for due diligence process

Local network with developers and advisors
Ability to understand strategic context and adapt to changing business and market needs
Ability to write and communicate investment proposals
Ability to work collaboratively and lead multi-functional teams in an inclusive manner
Ability to build long-term relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders
Ability to motivate working teams to drive performance improvement
Ability to close deals in complex settings (large companies, multiple stakeholders)
Ability to travel >25% of time for work and work productively in remote locations
