Responsibilities

The IT Project Management Lead (Program Manager) is responsible for the Program Management of the IT Peak Readiness program which has responsibility to ensure Humana's systems provide a great experience during critical sales season and as members begin to use their benefits. This program is highly complex in nature and spans across the IT organization to care for our member and associate experiences. The IT Project Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope, ambiguity, and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. This role requires a high degree of independent strategic work, program leadership, and influencing executive stakeholders.

This is a leadership role within a visible and evolving program critical to Humana's growth strategy. This role requires independent thought and actions to implement the Peak Readiness strategy and assure Humana's systems are ready for peak seasons. The IT Project Management Lead assembles and leads project teams, liaisons with other program teams, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects within the program. Actively manages stakeholder partnerships and mitigates risks. Familiar with the system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. When managing programs, oversees the interdependencies and integration of interrelated projects, and sets strategies and leads program execution to deliver longer term business value. Knowledge and ability to demonstrate agile ways of working to continue fostering agile best practices and techniques into the program leadership. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications


Curiosity and a growth mindset to tackle unique problems in an innovative way
Adaptability and the mindset to embrace business agility
8 or more years of technical experience and 2 or more years of program/project leadership experience
Extensive project management experience in a large corporate technical environment, with oversight across diverse technical platforms such as Web, Mainframe, Cloud, Telecom and Client Server
Demonstrated experience in large program execution, technical design and practical implementation of IT solutions
Demonstrated experience in process improvement
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration / IT
Longevity working in complex environments managing a complex program of diverse technology projects
Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure, application development, systems engineering, and/or production support
Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute certification and/or Agile certification
Experience in the health solutions industry


Additional Information

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

Work-At-Home Requirements


WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
