The CDO Project Manager will work in North Chicago, IL supporting a Department of Defense customer to deliver CDO services. The PM will direct cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs on time, within budget, and with quality results. Primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing CDO projects, for identifying key resources and providing the direction required in order to meet project directives. Assures appropriate management and customer involvement throughout the life of the project. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: · Determines project goals and priorities for the project · Negotiate the performance of activities with team members · Co-create a project charter with the team to include the definition and completion criteria · Manage and communicate the project objectives to the team and customer · Organize work into manageable activity · Prepare project plans, analyze risks, and initiate mitigation strategies · Track and report on progress to plan, cost and schedule reporting, and change control · Manage relationships with project stakeholders, keep them informed of progress and issues · Manage financial aspects of the project: budgeting, estimates to actual variances, and provide input to management on project costs and budget impacts · Oversees the delivery methodology to ensure implementation of standards, process, and support services · Integrates CDO delivery into customer’s existing project/program management capabilities · Resolve issues related to client relations, project quality, project risk and project safety · Position may require 25% travel
Job Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Ability to advise on complex business issues and to communicate effectively with senior management · Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies · Experience in CMMI process improvement · Experience in Earned Value Measurement and FISMA reporting a plus · Must have or have the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance · Must be a U.S. Citizen Experience and Education · Masters Degree preferred (Bachelors with 10 or more years experience will substitute) · PMP certification a plus · Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope, and quality and bring projects to successful completion within cost and time. · Proficiency with project management software tools · DoD Acquisition and/or Project Management experience preferred · Demonstrated expertise in teambuilding and leading teams
