In this exciting role as a Product Development (PD) Program Manager you will help support Medtronic Renal Care Solutions (RCS) project teams to achieve business objectives through the design, improvement, and coaching of our Product Development Process (PDP).
**RENAL CARE SOLUTIONS** strives to improve outcomes, access, and quality of life for patients affected by renal disease.
The PD Program Manager will be the face of the PDP, focusing on Design Control procedures. This role provides leadership and direction to ensure Medtronic RCS has a best-in-class Design Control system and methods that will be employed across all RCS R&D sites. The PD Program Manager will be known as the subject matter expert and leader to define, develop, and implement effective and efficient processes and supporting tools globally across the operating unit.
The PD Program Manager assists other members of the development team through coaching and by ensuring appropriate training. The PD Program Manager also collects data about project execution across the portfolio and uses it to drive further process improvements while ensuring cross functional alignment and support.
**Location:** Minneapolis, MN or Mansfield, MA or Remote
**Travel requirement:** Up to 25% of the time
**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Champion the creation and implementation of simplified next generation design control process for all RCS R&D sites based upon deep understanding of current business practices, product risk classifications, and site capabilities.
Exhibit strong technical expertise in product development processes (PDP) or similar governance processes and provide mentorship and training to project teams and leaders.
Collect and analyze project data to identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities, seek out best practices, identify risks and issues, assess implications, formulate recommendations, and implement innovative process solutions that deliver measurable results
Advise senior leaders during governance meetings; ensuring projects are well-prepared and efficiently move through the stage gate process and necessary decisions are made.
Represent RCS design control process during multiple agency audits
Coach and mentor engineers/teams on DFSS/DRM principles, tools, and techniques
Demonstrate servant leadership
Use multiple facilitation and coaching techniques.
Apply conflict resolution techniques.
Facilitate larger organizational events like communities of practice, lunch-and-learns etc.
**Must Have** **(Minimum Requirements):**

Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5 years of project/program management experience OR advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience
**Nice to Have** **(Preferred Qualifications):**
Medical device/ FDA regulated industry experience preferred
Effective planning and organization skills including the proven ability to work against multiple objectives and on multiple programs simultaneously.
Ability to balance team leadership responsibilities while still operating as an individual contributor at times.
Strong interpersonal, relationship and team building skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tailor communication for different audiences.
Ability to establish and maintain a trusted role with the various stakeholders in coordinating multiple functions across the organization.
Ability to manage through ambiguity.
Actively Coach & Mentor extended team.
Lean six sigma methodology / DFSS / DRM preferred.
