The Manager, Tools & Insights is responsible for creating and managing Enterprise PMO (ePMO) execution support, analytics, and insights tools and expressing project business outcomes to the enterprise through high impact and simplistic means. The Manager will also help architect's the organization's front door, create strategic governance and decisioning tools as well as lightweight project execution paths. Ultimately, this role will support realization of lifecycle visibility for all projects that align to Strategic Priorities and deliver business value. The Manager, Tools & Insights will ensure the organization has the necessary tools to capture the enterprise program portfolio, resource plans, key program / project milestones, and executive dashboards that enable actionable insights. The manager will also ensure that key stakeholders are trained on how to provide reliable data inputs for these tools, as well as on how to use these to inform their planning and execution activities. Finally, the Manager, Insights & Tools will be a critical partner to Strategic Governance colleagues, program or project business owners, and executive leadership helping them draw insights from project portfolio data to inform decisions that improve overall value realization from enterprise programs and projects.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Designs and manages a set of financial models and tools for Project portfolio modeling and insight, resource planning, and execution progress tracking. Ensures insights from project data are extracted for organizational decision-making.
Helps evaluate 3rd party Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and data analysis tools available in the market and select the one(s) that are best suited for Effectv's needs.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure tools are properly implemented and configured to work with other systems and data sources if necessary.
Customizes financial models and tools for use by partner organizations. Facilitates functional staff training, as well as share best practices on how to use PPM and other ePMO tools effectively.
Participates in the intake, business case, and approval stages of key project and programs and integrates these in the enterprise project portfolio database and resource planning tool.
Collaborates across the organization to ensure Program / Project portfolio financials and resource allocation data is complete, of high-quality, and current through periodic updates across the project lifecycle.
Develops guidelines for tool data integrity and governance.
Analyzes and interprets data to provide insights into program and portfolio performance and helps with recommendations for improvements or rebalancing.
Develops executive dashboards and communicates data insights to stakeholders using available visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Smartsheet, or other analytics platforms.
Collaborates with Strategic Governance colleagues, Project Managers and Business owners on periodically generating portfolio health and status dashboards for C-level reviews.
Produces custom ad-hoc reports and presentations upon request to enable executive decision-making.
Stays up to date on the latest developments in data analytics tools and recommends solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of enterprise project data capture and analysis. ​

Preferred Additional Qualifications:
4-6 years' experience in business data analysis and insight development for executive audiences
1-3 years' experience in data analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI preferred.
1-2 years project management experience
Ability to internalize Effectv strategy and business objectives and alignment with strategic programs and functional projects.
Effective communicator and storyteller with the ability to develop and/or influence completion of quality deliverables and ELT communications materials.
Effective and inclusive leader with the ability to inspire and develop talent for optimal performance and maintain standards of excellence.
Effectively balances attention to detail and deliverable quality with speed and agility to ensure timely completion.
Proficient with various project management methodologies.
Excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Proficiency with Smartsheet required.
Experience with company-wide and project level P&Ls and resource planning.
Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent. MS in MIS or Business Analytics preferred.

Pay Range: This job can be performed in Colorado, with a Pay Range of $103,865.63 USD - $155,798.45 USD
