You will be a member of the Surgical Robotics New Product Development (NPD) team that supports the design and development of innovative, new products and the R&D Sustaining team.
**Day in the Life**
As a Senior Project Manager you will support a variety of different types of projects. A key area of responsibility is to help drive design and development projects supporting the Medtronic Robotic Platform. You will work closely with P R&D, Marketing, Quality, Operations, Regulatory and other functions to deliver projects to our customers. Another key area includes coordinating and supporting the R&D Sustaining Organization. Sustaining is the liaison between operations and NPD. This organization is the custodian for the design of products which are launched to the field. The mission of this team is to refine the current product architecture for optimal reliability, quality and cost.

**You will:**
Lead cross functional teams including Design teams, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Sourcing, Labeling, Contract Manufacturers, and Quality through the product development process to ensure successful completion of projects and business goals.
Manage and allocate team resources over multiple projects. Provide and solicit resources to and from other teams as necessary
Support improvements in product quality, reduce cost and find alternatives for end of life components
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource tracking for assigned projects. Ensure timely and effective communication to update stakeholders (including multiple teams, sites and disciplines) on the progress of the project.
Schedule project meetings, document meeting minutes and key decisions, and track action items.
Ensure alignment between design sub system teams, operations and core team. Ensure input is incorporated early in process development and quality planning.
Lead in the preparation and alignment of the official design transfer to operations when metrics support operational readiness.
Build strong informal and formal communication channels to deliver information that is accurate and up-to-date to all stakeholders.
Organize and guide large numbers of distributed, cross-functional resources successfully.
Function as the primary point-of-contact for key leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.
Contribute to project prioritization decisions by providing data and analysis from current and past projects
This position is located in North Haven, CT. Travel up to 25%, primarily in US.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
Experience leading diverse and complex projects and programs and coordinating multiple teams to execute concurrent, interdependent projects
Strong written and oral communication skills and able to influence all customers (both internal and external) on issues that impact the business and its technical service and product strategies
Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and non-verbal; expert active listening skills with a keen awareness for various messaging styles; and polished ability to tailor delivery to a broad range of audiences
Exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills, negotiating; managing change; goal setting; planning and organizing teamwork; ability to address difficult situations; conflict resolution; resource constraint and problem solving.
Experience managing or facilitating external audits.
Degree in Engineering and/or scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Masters degree in Engineering and/or scientific discipline, or MBA
Lean Leader/Six Sigma Certification
Experience with ProChain
PMP Certification
Strong knowledge of medical device regulations. Well-versed in R&D, product development, and clinical/regulatory process (e.g. IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485)
