The Senior Systems Project Manager coordinates Information Technology projects and project activities and ensures resources are assigned appropriate tasks to achieve project objectives and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates multiple, complex projects and ensures resources are assigned appropriate tasks to achieve project objectives and coordinates project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately.
Manages projects according to the current Project Management Methodology and Systems Development Lifecycle including scope, schedule, budget, risk and resource management.
Works independently when appropriate and maintains collaboration with assigned Program Manager and/or other stakeholders.
Coordinates with appropriate working team members to document estimates and project delivery dates, including a cost-benefit analysis where applicable.
Keeps project schedules accurate and updated on a weekly basis.
Communicates status to all stakeholders in a timely, clear and concise manner. 
Assures that necessary business analysis functions are accomplished such as documenting requirements, testing application functionality and documenting process and data flow.
Develops a deep understanding of the application and business domain related to projects.
Develops a basic understanding of the technical architecture and main components involved with projects.
Ensures the timely and accurate storing and versioning of project artifacts.
When applicable, tracks time spent on projects for accounting purposes.
Negotiates priorities with appropriate stakeholders when conflicts arise.
Accurately manages the project budget and communicates variances in a timely manner.
Participates in software and service contract negotiations when applicable.
Acts as a liaison with vendors when applicable and integrates vendor management practices.
Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations to ensure safe and sound business operations.
REQUIREMENTS
Hands-on project management experience required
Certified project management credentials (PMP or SAFe) preferred
Experience managing projects in the financial services industry
Experience executing projects utilizing iterative project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, hybrid)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead a diverse project working team
Ability to understand and apply technical concepts to business solutions
