At our Research & Development Department in Medtronic, plc, we focus on the development of cutting- edge medical devices in the Cardiac and Vascular space. The NPD Program Manager is responsible for achieving successful execution of various programs and product development initiatives in support of our customers and the site strategy. As a member of the PMO, the program manager enables the site strategy through his or her partnership with the core team lead and continuously improves the business processes used by the PMO and the functional organizations they interact with to achieve efficient project execution to deliver products with world class quality and reliability.

**A Day in the Life**
You will work with the core team lead to establish clear project goals and objectives during each phase.
You will collaborate with project team members to create the work breakdown structure and evaluate the progress of each task.
You will support and utilize best practices in project management in our portfolio of development projects to help drive predictable outcomes.
You will understand and comply with company policies & procedures and external standards & guidance.
You will direct day to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying and mitigating project risks and taking accountability for DHF deliverables across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing the engineering team's product development tasks and facilitating successful on-time execution.
You will be a champion of the R&D product development process and methodologies.
Travel requirements up to 10%
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
7 years of project/program management experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of project/program management experience.
Experience in medical device development and/or other highly regulated industry (medical device preferred).
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills including influencing skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software, including project management software such as MS Project.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Experience in software design, development, and verification testing.
Project Management certification (PMP)
Dynamic team player and leader that can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
