Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land O'Lakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs.
Position Purpose:
Responsible for leading a team of desktop and technology specialists in planning, implementing, and maintaining desktop infrastructure within day to day business operations. Responds to complex technical infrastructure components supporting our application environments. Provides the ability to articulate and sell a vision for the future of the end user platform space, ensure that it is aligned with user and stakeholder needs and IT capabilities, then define the high level strategy and execute it. Responsible for defining the vision for the end user platform at our client and will manage a team who will turn that vision and its high-level goals and requirements into tangible solutions.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education:
Requires 7-10 years of experience working within the End User Computing, Workplace Engineering, Platform Engineer, Desktop Engineering, and/or Systems Operations environments. Strongly prefer *up the ranks* hands-on technical experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Windows technology teams. Requires a minimum of 5 years project management experience with strong people management and motivational skills. Must have at least 5 years of experience leading and successfully delivering complex initiatives. Knowledge of ITIL (Incident, Change, and Problem Management) tools/processes with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and maintain flexibility. Commitment to quality customer service, and the ability to promote and maintain team environment. Will need to develop, articulate and implementing a vision for the End User Platform. Excellent communicator - ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with people at all levels in the organization, both inside and outside of technology. Strong written and verbal skills. Person in this role must be comfortable sharing ideas (what, why, how). Must be capable of handling corrective criticism, accepting direct feedback from / being challenged by colleagues and refining thinking and approach accordingly as an means to arrive at the best solution efficiently and improve going forward. Security mindset - recognizes that factoring in the potential security risks / issues associated with introduction of new / modification of existing, solutions (technologies, processes, etc...) is a key element of this role.
Required Competencies & Other Skills:
Establish, enforce, and oversee the End User Platform Engineering sub areas via regular cross End User Platform engineering meetings and regular meetings with sub group leads, skip levels, etc. Hire, train, develop and assess high quality managers and staff (FTE / consultant) as required to ensure that End User Platform engineering has resources and skill sets which align with its responsibilities and its book of work. Gathering and synthesizing requirements obtained from customers (IT and Business Technology Managers). Managers). Ensure appropriate resources and capabilities in order to provide Level 2 Desktop Support escalations from the Customer Support Center. Ensure that standards are defined, agreed upon and communicated, as well as adopted and applied, as appropriate, in a good, sensible and consistent way. Research, evaluate and prototype desktop products and services and make recommendations which support the Head Workspace Engineering.
•Evaluate technology risks, ensure that mitigation plans are in place and escalate when necessary.
•Oversee the planning, designing, building, releasing, and transitioning of reliable efficient, secure and supportable End User Platform products and services.
•Ensure the creation of high quality core documentation (run books, FAQs, etc.), processes and procedures.
•Ensure principled, well documented, and predictable releases across IT capabilities operations, support, etc
