The Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the on-site planning, oversight and execution of all project-related tasks and activities required to fulfill contracted scope and to satisfy the expectations of the company and its clients. This role is essential to executing projects to appropriate standards, and in support of company franchises and modalities, to include coordinating a team of subject matter experts from various functional areas to track and manage their activities as assigned. The PM will assist with the creation, maintenance, and oversight of project schedules, will ensure adherence to project scope, will work closely with Program Control to manage project budgets, and will play the primary point of contact to clients for both the business and technical aspects of their projects. It is the PM’s role to integrate contracted scope into the project plan and for communicating this information to all members of the cross-functional team. The PM may mentor subordinate staff and will support the mission, vision, and direction of the Program Management Office (PMO) by ensuring execution of daily responsibilities in keeping with established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Additionally, the PM will be responsible for recommending and driving continuous improvement efforts within the PMO. Detailed responsibilities are listed below.

Essential Functions
rnrnPlans, executes and coordinates of all aspects of the project, on-site in Philadelphia, PA, in order to maintain schedule, budget, scope and quality in accordance with project requirements.
rntEnsures the dissemination of approved work scope to team members, working with operations leads and capacity planning to assign and schedule tasks related to the introduction of new projects within the site
rntOversees all aspects of projects, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities
rntManages the project budget to include planning and cost/resource implications of the approved work scope, and tracking expenditures
rntAssists with development of project integrated master schedules
rntProvides project management leadership to a cross-functional Product Development Team (PDT) required to conduct the project scope of work (ex. PD, Manufacturing, QA, QC, RA) and helps to define the mission, vision, and direction for the PDT.
rntSupports clinical and commercial development initiatives
rntManages client and other project stakeholder relationships, communications, requirements and expectations, and interfaces directly with the client
rntAnticipates and proactively manages changes in project scope.
rntCreates and maintains the records and historical files for the project.
rntManages project performance (through Earned Value or other methods).
rntAssists with writing reports and drafting SOPs (as necessary).
rntAssists with coordination and tracking of issue resolution.
rntEnsures excellent communications within the team, to leadership, to any other relevant stakeholders and to the client.
rntProvides primary point of contact with the client to include coverage of both technical and business-related discussions
rntPrepares and conducts program reviews and presentations of technical information with the department, across functional areas to clients and to senior management
rntAssists with coordination of the development of subcontractor Statements of Objectives and Statements of Work.
rntCoordinates and manages activities being conducted by subcontractors.
rntWorks independently, preparing regular project updates for the site leadership team to review and monitor performance based on metrics, objectives, and schedules.
rntCreates agendas and minutes for team meetings.
rntMaintains suitable information on project lessons learned and best practices and ensures dissemination within the PMO and to other project managers
rntAssists with new business proposal preparation, as required.
rntInteracts closely with Technical and Commercial Franchise Leads to support sales and business development
rntAssistance with identification of project risks and the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies/solutions as appropriate.
rntMentors the professional development and coordinates the work of subordinate PMs as appropriate.

Education and Experience
rnrnBachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
rntMinimum 8 years of combined technical and project management experience in the biotech industry with a Bachelor’s degree or minimum 5 years of experience with a Master’s degree; CDMO experience desired
rntProficiency in MS Project and/or Smartsheet required
rntStrong leadership and management skills required
rntAbility to manage large or multiple projects.
rntExcellent communication, organization, planning and presentation skills.
rntDemonstrated experience with timeline development.
rntExperience with project management concepts, practices, and procedures.
rntProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification required
