Job Summary:

In this role the successful candidate will support execution of projects and processes that drive strategic initiatives by utilizing project management principles. Leads cross functional Project Team(s) and ensure connectivity of Technical Expert Teams in support of the overall project delivery. Drives the development and manages the execution of high quality, integrated cross-functional plans for projects. Qualified candidates need to have a strong CMC background and will be able to build out project scope, create processes, collaborate with other teams, support deliverables, and work cross functionally. Strong communication skills are critical.

Major Accountabilities:

• Under minimal supervision, responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure of R&D projects (Development, Device, and CMC) at the project level.
• Provide input and support development of the project strategy.
• Responsible for leading cross-functional project teams to ensure that the project deliverables are achieved; issues and risks are identified and managed
• Collaborates with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and constraints are fully developed and understood while working within a matrixed environment.
• Monitors projects and serves as a liaison between project teams, business partners and relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare routine project status updates via formal and informal channels (monthly reports, project review reports, ad hoc reports).
• Identifies issues that may delay project deliverables and recommends risk mitigation strategies, contingencies, and actions, when appropriate
• Assists business planning process including estimating, tracking and managing key project activities and costs to support TD in planning and prioritization of resources
• Accountable for the preparation and maintenance of all project documentation and administration.
• Where relevant, support collaboration activities with external partners in the preparation and management of legal agreements and integration of services, technologies and capabilities to ensure delivery of project.
• Participate in the learning and development of junior Project Management staff and provide mentoring and coaching

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• An advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in Science or Engineering, PMP certification, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.
• 5-7 years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry (or where relevant a biomedical research organization).
• In-depth knowledge in drug research, development and manufacturing processes of pharmaceuticals (CMC, non-clinical, and clinical).
• Knowledge of GLP and GMP manufacturing preferred
• 5 years’ experience as a project manager leading cross-functional project teams in a matrixed, global environment, including those with complex technical, geographic, and/or regulatory elements.
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and delivering projects to meet business objectives on time, within budget and with quality.
• Demonstrated experience in management, learning, and development of junior Project Management staff.
• Proficient in the use of Project Management processes and tools (e.g. Microsoft Project and Mind Mapping software)
• Demonstrated success working well in ambiguity and at a fast pace
• Organizational, written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work in teams is required.
