Job Description
As an Audit and Assurance Products and Solutions Project Manager you will be responsible for the successful completion of complex and concurrent product development projects using corporate and industry standard Project Management processes, supporting the product strategy and direction, roadmap planning, requirements definition and product roll-out for an Agile/dev-ops based audit solution that is being built to further automate the way that we audit investments and investment funds. This solution is aligned to Deloitte’s global vision of the Audit of the Future and the Deloitte Way Workflows. The solution will be used to test 100% of a fund’s significant accounts and to provide comprehensive analytics. You will work closely with the existing Product Managers and Owners to support the overall objectives of the Audit & Assurance Products and Solutions team. You will gain exposure to other facets of the firm such as innovation, national office, and technology providing many network growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Be a self-starter–take full responsibility for assigned day-to-day activities within a specific product development team consisting of experienced auditors and audit subject matter experts.
Manage and fulfill planning, coordinating, monitoring, reporting, and closing of projects.
Prepare, review, and refine project plans in partnership with the scrum master and teams across the spectrum of groups involved in solution development and deployment.
Clarify and drive short-term project priorities and commitments and establish and maintaining clear channels of project management and accountability.
Ensure projects are executed in compliance with company processes and regulatory requirements; ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
Be extremely agile and adept at handling unexpected situations and unusual requests and can anticipate risks & bottlenecks.
Interact, collaborate, negotiate, and communicate across teams to achieve the OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
Prepare clear, consistent and realistic status reports showing accomplishments, milestones, key performance metrics, risks, assumptions, issues & dependencies that is understandable for all audiences.
Measure project performance & keeping project up to date using appropriate tools and techniques, establishing confidence in it as the single source of truth.
Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Solution Owners, Technology Leads, DevOps, Enterprise/Solution & System Architects, and the Business Leads to achieve objectives. Maintain a common and consistent understanding among the development team about current priorities.
Work with the Project Leader & Product Owners to manage team risks, dependencies and impediments, which are identified, and raised by the members of the teams. Escalate before they become issues & bottlenecks.
Foster learning and maintain an exciting work environment for teams including resolving conflict within the team.
Stakeholder engagement–interact with multiple stakeholders at all levels within the Deloitte global organization.
Contribute to continuous improvement of project execution methods and processes.
Own aspects of the assigned workstream area, from problem identification, proposing solution designs, and solution creation. As a team member will execute assigned activities, identify obstacles and propose solutions.
Perform all other essential duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related degree.
Minimum 7 years’ experience to include 3 years of project management experience with demonstrated successful outcomes and 3 years of engineering, computer science or product development experience.
Project Management Certification required (PMP) or New Product Development Professional (NPDP) certification.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is a plus.
Experience driving/leading Scaled Agile transformation efforts desired.
Strong skills in project management & Microsoft software.
Years of Experience:
5 years of Technology consulting or other relevant industry experience.
Other Skills
Experience working with remote and geographically distributed teams a plus.
Experience of computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Project Online and other project/business applications.
Creative problem-solving and ability to work with ambiguity.
Drive for quick results with vision of long-term strategy.
Fluent in project management practices & methodologies.
Have demonstrated success in project management for complex and concurrent projects.
Have demonstrated success using project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
Have working experience planning and executing using Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) frameworks and how to drive a team to satisfy OKRs.
Have significant experience using project management methods and software tools.
Experience in coordinating cross-disciplinary project teams in a matrix management environment.
Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in delivery of new products or services.
Ability to create compelling positioning/messaging strategy & present complex information concisely through written/verbal communication.
Advanced people leadership skills and being able to confidently engage with senior leaders in the firm
Strong systems and application delivery ability.
Ability to challenge the status quo, and to identify untapped opportunities and alternate approaches.
Reasonable familiarity with other audit or other regulatory technology applications.
Strong project management skills to keep multiple projects organized.
Working knowledge or ability to learn Audit Methodology elements needed to understand and use as needed.
Solve problems creatively.
Apply technical audit knowledge to new scenarios and Identify and address challenges before they occur.
