POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Store Operations focuses on managing all aspects of daily operations, operationally driven projects, and process improvement initiatives for the stores. The Manager conducts in-store diagnostic work, measures workload, analyzes data, and makes efficiency and innovation recommendations. The role prioritizes projects, facilitates cross-functional teams, and assists with implementation and performance management of each new process or practice.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Manage daily store operations tasks.
  • Acts as Project Manager for all in-store operations projects.
  • Track / report project progress and assess risk.
  • Analyze and report baseline vs. improvement productivity results.
  • Create procedure content and direction (SOP).
  • Determine best practices and create process improvements in stores. Develop operational efficiencies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct: Coordinator, Store Operations & Communications

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Determine and manage project budgets.
  • Conduct ROI analyses to drive investment decisions and prioritization for operational initiatives.

DECISION MAKING: 

  • Workload studies, measurements and analysis will drive critical decisions on payroll investments and allocation decisions.
  • Manage and re-direct operational improvement pilot programs.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with adherence to deadlines
  • Creates procedures to improve operation efficiency
  • Detail oriented/innovative traits are necessary

ENVIRONMENT: Up to 25% travel required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:             3 years in-store experience or equivalent required.

                                    2 years of Project Management experience in a retail environment required

        

Education:               Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Skills: 

  • Project management experience in a retail environment, including facilitation of cross-functional teams and small / large implementations
  • Project management skills including planning, execution, and follow-up
  • Industrial Engineering / workload measurement techniques and experience preferred
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in MS Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently in the supervisor’s absence.
  • Able to multi-task projects of various size and scope with a high degree of attention to detail.
