Role/Department Description Corporate Insights & Analysis provides actionable insights based on consistent, trusted data through a robust framework of analysis, infrastructure, and visualizations. Our vision is to empower the workforce to make informed decisions that drive value, growth, and efficiency throughout the enterprise. The department has four areas of responsibility: Data Governance, Business Analysis, Data Technology, and Application Engineering.
The Business Intelligence Analyst within the CIA team is responsible for partnering with business leaders and strategic thinkers within the organization to drive decisions and evaluate the impact of actions using data and analytics. This role and team have a responsibility to grow and develop deep business knowledge among several corporate domains and subjects, including workforce, finance, sales, business units, products & usage, and operations.
Responsibilities:
· Determine product requirements, priorities, and create specifications for business intelligence tools and dashboards
· Build data analytics models and prototypes based on business needs by collaboration with stakeholders · The ability to tell stories with data and propose analytical solutions instilling confidence to leaders making operational and strategic business decisions
· Empower key stakeholders and business power users by training, certifying, and providing direct access to the Analytics Workbench for self-service analysis and discovery
· Work closely with application engineers, data technology engineers, and machine learning engineers to design and develop data centric tools and features
· Create use cases by synthesizing feedback/needs/suggestions from multiple sources to drive business insights and strategy
· Document requirements for proposed engineering efforts of data capture, source-system modifications, and integrated visualizations
· Communicate needs to engineering through detailed specifications, interface mock-ups, and management of RPDs and Jira boards
· Test pre-release software and coordinate with the QA department in the creation of test plans
· Act as first-line support for bugs and questions
· Act as a project manager with the ability to see initiatives through from inception to completion
· Manage expectations by communicating project plans, features, and statuses within Enterprise Solutions and to business stakeholders
Required Skills:
· Outstanding communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues
· Comfortable interacting with business partners at all levels of the organization, including C-level executives · Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
· 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, data modeling, or relevant business experience using data · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to pair data modeling and analytics skills with a solid understanding of business needs
· Experience in a project management/organizational role
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Experience in an Agile operating model
· Self-starter that is capable of tackling complex/loosely defined problems and structuring a well organized and actionable solution
· Results focused with a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail
Desired Skills:
· Experience/Expertise in predictive modeling, statistics, machine learning and data analysis techniques
· A true passion for data and deriving insights that can be applied to development efforts
· Knowledge of SQL and/or data warehouses
· Strong knowledge & understanding of multiple lines of business
· Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics tools and software development systems
