The goal of the Surgical Innovations Training Manager is to drive the growth of the sales organization within Surgical Innovations by enhancing their commercial capabilities through executing world-class training programs. They will work closely with Surgical Innovations Marketing, Medical Affairs, R&D, HR and Sales Leadership, including the VP of Sales and First and Second Line Managers. In alignment with strategic priorities and working directly with these key stakeholders, this individual will oversee the design and implementation of Surgical Innovations clinical, procedural, technical, and sales skills curriculum. They will support sales representatives across the Surgical Innovations field organization.
**A Day in the Life**
Align curricula creationand implementation to the following organizational groups : New Hires, Current Sellers and Distributors , if applicable
Use gap analysis discussions with Marketing and Sales to develop programs that build new capabilities to address identified gaps
Work with global counterparts aligning efforts to needs/gaps determined by this group, helping to standardize best practices, curriculums and metrics to infuse regional growth
Execute on New Product Launch Excellence , driving alignment between global/regional stakeholders (Sales Training/Marketing/Sales/Medical Affairs)
Execute on the creation and deployment of initiatives to advance commercial capabilities of sales representatives in the Surgical Innovations business
Partner with Training Operations to design and develop Surgical Innovations training curriculum
Collaborate across the matrix (Marketing/R&D/Medical Affairs/Commercial Operations) to find synergies with training platforms
Ensure all training content is up-to-date and properly reflects selling philosophy and models
Routinely partner with Training Operations to ensure ongoing value of clinical curriculum, and be actively involved in the continuous improvement of training programs
Align with Surgical Innovations Marketing on materials and programs for the existing portfolio and new product launches
Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
Identify talent and find resource efficiencies by utilizing field seller/regional training Subject Matter Experts on curricula development and deployment where applicable
**Minimum Requirements:**
Bachelors Degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MA Ed, MA, or PhD)
Minimum of 3 years of field sales or clinical experience
Self-motivator who can apply innovative thinking to define solutions to business problems; solution oriented
Ability to maintain an ethical mindset and conduct business with integrity
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to travel and be flexible with hours of operation
Strong track record and demonstration of results
Solid organizational skills and ability to operate independently
**Preferred Experience:**
5 years in one or more of the following functions: Sales, Clinical Training, Sales Training, Medical Education, or other relevant areas
Experience selling in the acute care hospital operating room environment
In-depth knowledge of the field sales organization, structure, processes and culture
Large group facilitation experience
Depth of commercial experience, Cross-BU preferred
Experience with project management/project leadership, excellent planning and organizational skills
Experience in the design of training curricula
Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects concurrently
Demonstrated leadership/coaching skills
Management experience
