This position is responsible for leading major design and construction projects throughout the country.  The role will work with all hospital leaders and planners in the development of annual capital planning designs and budgets in respective MBOs and hospitals. The position will manage all aspects of projects; design, capital budgeting, contracting, negotiating, bidding, construction managers, safety, and coordinating IT and medical equipment planning on projects.  This role is essential to performance of PDC and is a foundational element to the success of national PDC and CHI capital management.  Manages projects up to 300 million-dollars with complete financial responsibility. Responsible for managing CHI National employees and contracted project management resources. This position requires significant travel. This role is eligible for telecommuting.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 


This position is responsible for leading major design and construction projects throughout the country to include: (70%)

Plans and coordinates master planning initiatives in the markets.
Coordinates closely with the CHI National Architect and select support design partners in the development of construction and project management standards, and the approach to divisional and market project management.
Coordinate across the PAS Leadership Teams to ensure the coordination of their programs into the management plans of the projects.
Responsibility for construction safety programs and infection control for patients and the Environment of Care during construction operations.
Ensures project reports are delivered in a timely manner to stakeholders and CHI leadership.
Utilizes National PDC Software programs and systems.
Leads Value Management Meetings and provides training on the CHI Value Management Process
Responsible for the recommendation of construction management platforms.
Provides leadership to the MBO regarding project costs and schedule with regular professional level reporting. (5%)
Works with MBO’s in turnover of projects to Environment of Care programs to support compliance with Joint Commission, CMMS, OSHA, state Department of Health and other governing bodies. (5%)
Supports the CHI National Integrated Asset Solutions programs with special projects as necessary. (5%)
Regularly supports/coordinates National and MBO level projects in special assessments, estimating, and constructability issues. (5%)
Responsible for leading, mentoring and coaching project managers that includes responsibilities for training, recruitment and succession planning. (5%)

 ','!*!Job Requirements/Qualifications:
 
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred)


Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business or relevant work experience required.   Years of experience will be considered.
Experience:
 


Min 12 year’s experience in estimating construction and project management required. 

Min of 5 years experience in architecture or design is preferred.

PMP certification is preferred.

American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) - Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) within 3 months of hire.

Prefer someone with experience in MySmartCost, E-Builder, Primavera, Expedition, Prolog, Contract Manager or Access. 

Must demonstrate financial and operational management skills, and demonstrate the ability to analyze technical estimating and budgeting tools for construction.  Effective written and verbal communication skills.','We’re an equal opportunity employer.
