SUMMARYUNC Health Virtual Care Team is seeking a highly motivated
project manager who will be responsible for developing and managing project
plans to ensure successful set-up and implementation of assigned projects for
Virtual Services within the UNC Health Virtual Care Team. The project manager
directs and manages project development from beginning to end; seeing that it
is completed successfully within the given deadline and budget. The project
manager defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business
goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Collaborates
within UNC Health to draw in the right expertise, at the right time, to support
the work of their assigned projects. This position will be a critical thinker
who can create new or adapt existing processes that support project operations
and execution. In general this person is responsible for the overall direction,
coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of multiple,
simultaneous projects ensuring consistency with UNCHCS strategy, commitments and
goals. Work experience in a health care environment with clinical decision
making is preferred.Reports
to:  Director, Virtual ServicesDESCRIPTION
OF DUTIES:Develops project plans, goals, and budgets; identifies resources needed, develops
schedules and methods for measuring results while maintaining optimum working
relationships with all departmental units.Updates
and implements the project work plan for various internal and externally-facing
virtual care programs.Supports
the team with integrated program and project planning: annual program planning,
alignment of program goals with project objectives, revising and updating of
tasks, timelines, and deliverables as appropriate.Responsible
for program and project assignments working independently or collaboratively as appropriate to accomplish the assigned work.Identify issues and assist in developing strategies to address
them prior to issues becoming critical.Keep
senior management informed of project(s) status and any potential problems or political concerns. Provides day-to-day
oversight of all aspects of various programs. Provides and ensures effective
communication with all stakeholders, including status reporting, risk
management, issue resolution among all internal and external stakeholders.Organizes/manages
all phases of the projects to achieve schedule, cost and performance
objectives, while maintaining the scope of the projects. Monitors
and summarizes progress of projects which include, but is not limited to: designing
spreadsheets and other tools to manage processes and tracks progress against
milestones and budget.Prepares requests for proposals and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate
selection of project services and products. Assembles project team members;
assigns individual responsibilities and monitors project performance. Ensure
all work is undertaken in compliance with security and privacy, including but
not limited to IRB, HIPPA, etc. Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of project communications. Communicates with top-level management, project sponsors, and functional area managers/directors regarding status of specific projects. Produces project reports for the project sponsors and senior management.  Cultivates
relationships, manages and interfaces with project team members including
internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that project goals are
achieved.Supports
the creation and updating of annual budgets, reviews monthly financial and labor
reports, and ensures that the program’s spending is aligned with available
resources. Performs strategic analysis for the projects and develops objective means or status reports for assessing the
status of the projects that are consistent with standard skills of project
managers. Coordinates
effort and manages relationships with vendors and contractors necessary for any
projects.Performs
other duties as assigned by supervisor.SKILLS (TYPE &
PROFICIENCY)  Strong analytical,
communications, and change management skills with solid knowledge of project
management and or project management software required.Intermediate computer
and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) skills are
required. Proficiency with content
management software (e.g. Sharepoint) is preferred. Ability to learn new
technology is required.Must be able to work
independently and assume responsibility for all aspects of the project for the
life of the project. A project manager must be able to complete these projects
while assuming responsibility of its success and failure while relying on a cross
functional team and the authority of others to be successful.Ability to exercise good
judgment and sound decision-making in a variety of situations. Ability to
maintain a high level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to influence,
but to also build consensus and maintain good relations with health care system
partners. Ability to be an
effective listener and be willing to work as a part of a team where their
advice will be considered carefully, but not always accepted.Ability to assume full
responsibility for specific operational tasks, be capable of delegating work to
others, but also willing to perform tasks that others with less skill or
training might be capable of doing.
