job Summary:
Responsible for managing diverse, very complex IT projects or multiple IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost. Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met. Communicates with business partners (including senior leadership team members) to provide timely and accurate information and status updates, and to work through project issues. Projects involve multiple disciplines in the IT function. Utilizes project management skills and methodologies to deliver defined projects on time and within budget to meet business needs.
Job Responsibilities And Requirements:
Specific current responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Detailed Project Planning including developing and maintaining project schedule and key milestones according to project and governance standards and best practices and with appropriate tools ( MS Project, Dashboards)
• Development of standards, practices and knowledge management for project management discipline
• Project Estimates including gaining a full understanding of the project scope, technologies required, and business goals.
• input to PEP process regarding project team members to their respective function managers
• relationship management and communication with key internal business resources, in particular partnering with Business Project Sponsor (generally VP level), Vendors (per project needs), senior business management (avp level, director level) and ETO leadership (director, avp, vp level) on critical project activities, issues management, and resource acquisition. Includes but not limited to biweekly status updates to SLT
• Project Communication, Project Scope Control , Issue and Risk Management including identifying and resolving project risks and issues that directly impact each project; Project tracking , test planning and execution
• Project Financial Management including developing and subsequently maintaining project budgets and ops plans, cashflow models, and ensuring all financial information is properly represented in SAP and communicated in an accurate manner. Project/Program Manager drives project to successful financial completion as well as on-time delivery
• Resource Project Planning including identifying key skills required and subsequently negotiating and attaining appropriate staff to execute internal and external (e.g., ETO) projects
• Coaching, mentoring, motivation and supervision project team members to take positive action and meet deliverables in a matrixed environment. Develop and manage high performing teams
• Active management of team activities for packaging and release of blocks of activity into production (Release Management)
• Ensure designs are implemented as defined, with reverse modeling to effective implementation of recommended solutions (Traceability)
• Participate in planning, managing acquisition and divestiture of systems operations in support of RS merger and acquisition strategy
• Project Management responsibilities may include business projects (e.g., new product development, marketing campaigns) or technical projects (e.g., environment changes, software upgrades)
• (Depending on experience level) Management role will include management of Programs-overseeing the activity of multiple project managers, managing the overall direction of multiple Tracks for projects of a more strategic nature
• Note: the next four years will be a period of major transition for RS Systems, effectively changing our organization, all development and production practices, and the entire portfolio of underlying technology. Managing through this transition, developing best practices, standing up the new disciplines, moving people through the transition, and managing flexible resource pools (contractor, outsourced) while “keeping the lights on” in current infrastructure will be of utmost criticality in achieving divisional and ETO goals
Federation responsibilities:
• Partner with ETO management to support and enable ISO and enterprise initiatives. Support enterprise processes and disciplines. Improve cross organization management effectiveness. Contribute to success of RS Systems leadership team.
