Profile

This position support the data architecture, reporting and other general needs within the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This could entail working with physicians, nurses, administrators, data managers, data analysts and others to define and meet the ongoing data requirements of Intermountain Healthcare. Other duties will include: maintaining current data marts, data loads, and reports, and assisting in the development of any new data marts.
This position will be responsible for data marts from beginning to end. Guided by and working closely with the data manager in overall project management, requirements gathering, data modeling (logical and physical), design of data marts in Oracle, ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading) programming of required data, as well as the operations, maintenance and support of the data marts. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing data entry applications. The candidate will also be tasked with other duties as needed by the team. Candidates must be comfortable working at various levels, from project management to hands-on database tasks and programming. They must have exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work within a team environment. This position will report to the Enterprise Data Warehouse team.
This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
Minimum Requirements
One or more years of experience in database design, development, and business intelligence technologies
Basic knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language)
Understanding of basic data warehousing concepts and the primary differences between On-line Transaction Processing and Decision Support systems and how to appropriately support the requirements and environments for each
Interpersonal communication skills to promote and advance business intelligence in collaboration with our customers
Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material and adhere to data security and confidentiality protocols and procedures
High degree of flexibility and motivation in an aggressively changing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or ability to complete a bachelor's degree within 12 months of hire
Experience with the following technologies and tools: Oracle RDBMS, MS SQLServer DB, MS Access, MS Excel, CASE tools
One or more years of relational or dimensional database design and modeling experience
One or more years of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) programming experience
One or more years of project management experience
One or more years of experience working with clinical or financial data
One or more years of experience with Unix and Kornshell scripting
