**What youll be doing:**
**The Industrial Engineering Intern will be working with the Industrial Engineering and Project Management Team to support continuous improvement projects in Fulfillment Operations. This job will require up to 50% travel to local Fulfillment Centers. This associate will be a member of the corporate Industrial Engineering Team helping to optimize Fulfillment Operations.**
Responsibilities Include:
Work with engineers and cross functional partners to identify, evaluate, recommend, and implement network wide process improvement opportunities in Fulfillment Center and Delivery Operations through new or enhanced systems, tools, and methodologies.
Identify and evaluate key performance indicators to monitor and research the health of the business. Use findings to initiate process improvement that supports business goals and objectives.
Work closely with leadership to provide best practices, labor management and process improvement. In addition, support the business in meeting yearly cost and service objectives and provide economic analysis and financial justification for all improvement initiatives.
Be a thought leader in understanding industry best practices. Research trends, opportunities, risks, strengths, weaknesses, and alternatives for new services, equipment, new methods, or technology changes.
Be adept at mining data from various sources (WMS, TMS, Package Tracking, Roadnet, Labor Management, Slotting software, Kronos, etc.) and translating into meaningful findings in support of firm action plans.
**What you bring to the table:**
**Apply engineering methodologies to improve performance in productivity, quality, and service across the supply chain.**
**Perform data analytics to expose key opportunities to support business objectives.**
**Perform time studies for engineered standards and labor management.**
**Develop strategic operating procedures that support network-wide business objectives in Fulfillment, Transportation and Delivery operations.**
**Qualifications :**
**Whats needed- Basic Qualifications**
A Senior or higher in an Engineering or related discipline.
Familiar with MOST predetermined motion time system or other work standard development tools.
Understanding of labor forecasting tools and staffing plans.
Understanding of various distribution systems such as Manhattan and Red Prairie.
Experience with project management and applying lean/six sigma techniques.
Familiar with economic evaluation, financial justification, turning evaluations into effective executive-level recommendations, and building discounted cash flow models.
Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to build financial and statistical models to simulate process changes and predict the impact of improvements.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and the ability to conduct meetings and presentations with associates from all levels of management.
Experience working with Business Intelligence Tools such as SQL, R, Teradata, Hadoop, Python, Magento, Alteryx, PowerBI, @Risk, Minitab.
**Whats needed- Preferred Qualifications**
Proficient with SQL, Visual Basic, Advanced Microsoft Excel and programming languages such as Python, R, C, C .
Due to the techno-management nature of the job a candidate with an Engineering background and an MBA or a Masters level degree in Finance / Engineering / Operations management is preferred.
Exposure to warehouse process automation
