Manager IT Systems Engineering

Profile

The Manager of IT Infrastructure and Systems Engineering at 10x will join the management team of the IT department and have direct responsibility for leading our team of Windows, Networking, and other IT experts in designing, implementing, and maintaining a world-class hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructure globally, with an emphasis on automation, cloud, and operational excellence.
This position will work closely with other leaders and groups in the department, including Client Technologies and IT Support, Research Computing, and Information Security, to ensure our enterprise infrastructure and services environment is resilient and scalable from a global perspective.
This position will play an important role in defining our next-generation cloud-based AAA solutions and lead several critical projects including the IT fitment of several new construction projects, a complete network refresh of several buildings among others.
What you will be doing:
Direct management of our Systems Engineering team including hiring, training, and retention of our team of experts focused on Windows, VMware, AWS, and Networking technologies.
Be responsible for the project management of IT fitments and build-outs for new and refreshed construction at 10x facilities around the world.
Lead the Systems Engineering team in several critical projects, such as implementation of Azure Active Directory, ITAM, and DDI systems.
Define and document standard operating procedures and business processes for the Systems Engineering team.
Lead the effort to drive automation in the Systems Engineering team.
Report on industry-standard metrics and KPI's.
Work with the Director of IT on SOX compliance reporting requirements.
Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure proactive measures are taken for all infrastructure including aggressive patch management, MS Security Baseline enforcement, and further deployment of our Zero Trust environment.
To be successful, you will need
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
Subject matter experience in one or more of the following: Windows System Administration, VMware, Networking, AWS
Minimum 5 years of experience managing expert technologists
Minimum 3 years experience project management experience in IT operations
Minimum 3 years project management in IT construction
Strong project management, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication capabilities
Strong security mindset
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or other similar system and infrastructure automation tools
Nice to have background and experience:
Experience with enterprise (or other) monitoring programs (e.g. Nagios, Zabbix, What's Up Gold)
Experience working with Service Now
