is responsible for the quality and timeliness of the engineering development and delivery, managing a multi-disciplinary team of engineering professionals in chemical, process, mechanical, vessels, electrical, instrumentation, structural, piping, and designers/ drafters.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Recruit, assign, train and develop engineering team. Provide administrative support to the team.
Develop engineering execution plans, lead technical activities, and provide guidance on multi-disciplinary engineering design fields of chemical, process, mechanical, vessels, electrical, instrumentation, structural, piping, systems integration, fabrication, etc.
Review, monitor and validate engineering performance, quality, costs, and provide feedback for improvement.
Coordinate and participate in design/ gate reviews, FAT, commissioning, failure investigations, problem solving, periodic project reporting, etc.
Support Projects teams with technical inputs and feedback for proposals, procurement, construction, facilities, operations, as required.
Participate in Client meetings as required to provide technical input and execution guidance.
Keep abreast of Industry Code and Guidelines. Ensure compliance with procedures, as well as with applicable Client technical specifications. Assist team and projects with the interpretation and clarification of applicable industry Codes and Client Specification requirements.
Define document control processes. Ensure engineering documents are accurate, comply with company standards and policies, and protect and secure confidential and proprietary information. Advise and assist project team and suppliers with the interpretation and clarification of documents.
Assist in developing standards, procedures, work instructions and setting up improved processes.
Participate in continuing education to maintain professional status as required by licensing authorities and to enhance professional skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master of Science in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical.
Experience of >10 years, preferably in the energy, chemicals, mining or water treatment industry.
In depth knowledge of national and international codes and standards of process equipment, shop fabrication procedures, and inspection and NDE requirements. Knowledgeable in the ASME B&PV Code Section VIII, Div.1/2, EN 13445 and PD5500 Code and ASME B.31-3 Standards. Good knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 5001 requirements.
Well verse in developing and using P&ID, electrical one-lines, control philosophies and narratives.
Experience with commercial engineering design programs such as Compress, PVElite, AVEVA, Inventor, CadWorks, AutoCAD, Solidworks, PDMS/ E3D.
Hands-on with process systems, fabrication/ integration, civil/ structural, facility operation, maintenance.
Excellent communication skills (multilingual is a plus), both verbal & written, and interpersonal skills to interact and manage a multicultural team and stakeholders.
Project Management experience required; PMP desirable. Ability to multi-task, balancing daily technical activities with management related activities. Flexibility to work on multiple projects concurrently.
Self-starter and initiative to drive project activities and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Mobility to travel to remote locations to visit clients, engineering partners, vendors, fabricators, field site locations as required by project needs.
Strong motivation for New Energy; and experience in water treatment projects is highly desirable.
