This role communicates with internal and external SGWS stakeholders and is a member of the SGWS Knowledge Management (KM) team, which provides global support to the SGWS community, including program management systems oversight, financial reporting, SAP integration, and invoice payment. Where you fit in –
SGWS manages Soil and Groundwater (SGW) issues for all Shell Lines of Business globally and is located within the Carbon & Environment (C&E) team in Shell’s Projects & Technology Safety, Environment & Asset Management (SEAM) organization. The C&E team is accountable for delivering deep technical expertise to manage key C&E risks and opportunity areas; support on sectoral decarbonisation, societal license to operate, energy transition, and external industry partnerships; global Environment skill pool leadership; and specialist support in SGW, Health, and Product Stewardship.

The Specialist SGW Systems role provides the opportunity to work in a small, agile, and fun team that often works under tight deadlines.
The SGWS KM team plays a key role in managing and supporting SGWS’ IT management systems (e.g., financial, project management, environmental data management, document management) and produces key reports to enable SGWS leadership and Program Managers to make the tactical and strategic decisions necessary to run the project portfolio. This team coordinates the creation of our regional and global financial plans, monitors monthly spend and accountabilities, and oversees data management in the systems required to manage the SGWS business effectively.
What’s the role –
Responsible for managing applications, programs, and tools which SGWS Program Managers and vendors/contractors use for project delivery and portfolio management.
SGWS focal point for several Shell functions (e.g., Finance, IT, and Group Records Information Management) and provides support to and interacts directly with the SGWS Leadership Team and other stakeholders.
IT communication focal for SGWS, ensuring an effective communication plan is in place (e.g., planning and delivering webinars and other communications) to support new ways of working, compliance, and sharing of best practices.
Subject Matter Expert for the SGWS integrated workflow management system (i.e., ENFOS) with indirect financial accountability as the focal point for global reporting of operational expenditures, provision budgets, and provision adjustments.
What we need from you -
A legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or equivalent.
At least three plus (3 ) years in an analytical role with business interaction required.
Specific skills and experiences must include:
Experience working with SAP.
Experience with Project Management databases (e.g., ENFOS).
Highly proficient in SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
Knowledge of financial processes and systems, especially budget/cost analysis and financial report generation.
Budget management experience.
Other skills and experiences can include:
Excellent communication skills.
Strong IT skills, including financial report generation and analysis.
Proven track record in implementation of new IT systems.
Experience in the environmental provisioning process.
Attention to detail and ability to provide Quality Assurance & Quality Control of own work.
Ability to work with minimum supervision/direction.
Ability to build a shared vision and take a team through a change process.
Ability to work under pressure, sometimes with short deadlines, and be resilient when faced with last-minute requests.
Highly organized and able to manage priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously, both individually and in a team setting.
Adaptable and resilient in working across diverse cultures, including a demonstrated capability to collaborate and deliver seamlessly with multiple teams across different time zones.
A “team player” attitude.
