The Emerging Talent Program Lead is responsible for managing Best Buy internship programs from end to end. provides planning, project coordination for Emerging Talent, while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the organization. They are accountable for ensuring continuity and successful delivery of functional services (internship program, community partnership programming, building strategy for specific business groups, etc.) to users throughout the organization.
What is the work?
Identify, engage and help hire entry level talent to Best Buy
Assess talent through in person meetings, phone interviews and application review
Responsible for continuous improvement, change management with the evolution of Emerging Talent and our Intern programs
Accountable for influencing managers and directors and supporting their decision making to maintain the key date deadlines with internship programs
Accountable for the performance & results of Emerging Talent programs
Tracking and staying in contact with students through the tools of Kenexa and Lead Manager
Works cross-functionally, including with corporate and field business teams to drive positive business results.
Utilizes past experiences to solve complex problems; takes broad perspective to identify solutions and put them in to action
Develops relationships and provides technical guidance/consultation to business leaders, HR colleagues, employees, and/ or customers.
Accountable for the analysis, recommendations, change management, and measurement of Emerging Talent processes/programs/projects in support of HR strategy including the lens of Inclusion and Diversity throughout
Coach and mentor members of the Emerging Talent team to guide them to achieve the team performance goals and support change management
Self directed project management to support all of the programs
Min requirements:
5 or more years of experience in Talent Acquisition or related HR experience
2 or more years of experience in University Relations & internship program management
Preferred skills:
Experience navigating university systems, career services, faculty, etc.
Experience with project management
Advanced user of Microsoft Office programs specifically PowerPoint and Excel
