Role Summary:
Best Buy is looking for someone to join our Social Impact team. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for giving from the Best Buy Foundation and Corporate sponsorships, primarily national (and some focus on Twin Cities headquarters). The position interacts with all members of the Social Impact team and Best Buy Foundation Board of Directors as well as the community. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of and previous experience with grants management systems and program management. In addition, the candidate must have previous experience in grantmaking and preferably in a corporate setting or nonprofit management or a combination of both.

Key Responsibilities:
National Grant and Twin Cities Program Funds – Leads year-round, work with national and Twin Cities nonprofits (national/career pathways, headquarters giving and district initiative) to provide guidance on funding criteria and selection. Launch request-for-proposals, plan site visits, conduct grant reviews and due diligence to ensure partners align with social impact evaluation criteria, provide funding recommendations, prepare grant summaries and other necessary materials for committee and board meetings.
Seattle Fund – In collaboration with the Seattle office, lead the year-round work with Seattle nonprofits (career pathways, teens and tech) to provide guidance on funding criteria and selection. Will also guide and supervise the work of the Seattle Fund Committee.
Sponsorship /Corporate Giving – In collaboration with health and tech leaders, create funding guidelines and manage corporate contributions and sponsorships around the health and tech focus area to support our health brand.
Financial Management – In collaboration with social impact leadership, recommend annual budget consideration for programs the you will be leading. You will help make corporate contributions and grant determinations within the budget scope and also attend monthly finance alignment meetings and report on budget spend for managed programs.
Best Buy Foundation Board Meetings – Attend and present grant recommendations to the Best Buy Foundation board.
Social Impact Correspondence – Manage mail and email correspondence for Best Buy Foundation and Social Impact as it relates to managed programs.
Experience:
4 years of grants management experience
4 years of project or program management experience
Experience managing partner relationships - community leaders (and preferably corporate leaders)
MS office experience – Word, Excel, PPT
Preferred Experience:
Corporate philanthropy experience and/or nonprofit management, combination of both
Deep understanding of technology and tech education programs or experience working with programs that provide programming for youth from disinvested communities
