The Senior Specialist for Community Programs
executes critical engagement programs and relationship management with a diverse set of partners, including external nonprofit organizations and Field/Retail and Corporate employee volunteer groups. The Senior Specialist for Teen Tech Center Training is an essential role that will train and develop Teen Tech Center Coordinator staff and lead Best Buy employee volunteer education efforts. As a key member of the Social Impact Community Programs team, this individual will ensure that nonprofit organizational host partners for Teen Tech Centers are prepared for success and drive the mission of the Best Buy Foundation. This leader has primary responsibility for building a network of connected internal and external teams throughout North America.
A key component of broad employee preparation will require partnership with Inclusion & Diversity, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and Human Resources to create new training. Successful implementation of this engagement strategy will require substantial experience in youth engagement and building technology-focused youth spaces that enable creative expression
What you will do:
Best Buy Teen Tech Centers Training
Support the Best Buy Teen Tech Center program through nonprofit relationship management, coordinate training, and professional development
Success in this role will require up to 50% travel to train Coordinators onsite, ensure site-wide technology functionality, and perform quality assurance and site operational assessments
Build relationships between Teen Tech Centers and between Coordinators via standing up new job shadow procedures
Responsible for training Best Buy Teen Tech Center Liaisons using local field employee resources throughout United States and ensure employee volunteerism goals are achieved, or exceeded
Use iterative processes and feedback to improve training and engagement programs
Develop, Improve, and Execute Other Community Engagement Programs
Support volunteerism programs for Juneteenth, Month of Service, and other engagement events
Collaborate with Inclusion and Diversity to support development and deployment of employee community engagement training
Basic Requirements
3 or more years of experience managing event planning and execution, preferably in a corporate setting
3 or more years working with community and philanthropic organizations
1 or more years of project and program management experience
1 or more years of relationship management skills, preferably managing partner relationships and corporate and community leader relationships
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Experience and understanding of technology and tech education programs
Experience working with programs that provide programming for underserved youth
