Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for strategic and project management of consultant engagements with BMS Thought Leaders (TL). Partners across functions (Worldwide Medical, R&D, Commercial, Regulatory Legal, SCT, Compliance, Patient Hub etc…) to ensure engagement optimization with respect to business strategy. Enhance consultant experience through value added innovative engagement planning & execution. Leads all coordination (onsite/virtual) of consultant engagements.

Demonstrates understanding of KOL/TL trends and business priorities to identify opportunities and drive business impact
Applies knowledge of external market and educates home office/matrix partners to impact solutions and decisions
Stays abreast of changing KOL environment and transforming external industry environment to business discussions. Share best practices and informs team and stakeholders of impact and recommendations
Identifies and utilizes resources and tools to gather critical information and apply to projects and inform decisions
Evaluates and integrates business analytics to plan/execute engagements
Makes informed business decisions and recommendations based on sound data analysis
Evaluates and tracks key engagements for Therapeutic/Functional area
Integrates and interprets data to support decision making that drives productivity and performance
Customer Focus:
Understands diverse customer/stakeholder and matrix teams’ perspectives and translates into actionable solutions and business priorities
Proactively identifies, analyzes, prioritizes and recommends improvements to address customer (internal/external) needs
Builds a thorough understanding of functional/therapeutic area needs by gathering perspective from various sources including Brand, Medical, R&D, Compliance, Legal etc…
Understands diverse customer/stakeholder and matrix teams’ perspectives and translates into actionable solutions and business priorities
Proactively identifies, analyzes, prioritizes and recommends improvements to address customer (internal/external) needs
Strategic Thinking and Planning:
Influences organizational objectives, challenges the status quo and identifies continuous improvement opportunities
Generates proposals to address business challenges that effectively integrate/compliment business strategies
Evaluates long term and short term opportunities, analyzes and balances risks
Knows when to act and take calculated risks and when more information and analysis is needed
Identifies opportunities to leverage data analytics across functions to inform business planning
Uses foresight to consider potential downstream implications, anticipates future decisions and trends when proposing solutions
Identifies and ensures contingency plans are in place and ready to operationalize and address unanticipated barriers
Execution Excellence:
Builds and executes project objectives to address business priorities, streamline and simplify processes
Allocates resources efficiently (budget, vendors etc… )
Identifies and assess risk, and determines and implements solutions to progress while migrating risks
Identifies ways to optimize KOL engagement efficiencies and enables innovative solutions
Engages leadership and matric stakeholders in project, leverages others to remove barriers
Manages engagement, budget, KOLs, SOs, Invoices and all pre, during and post engagement activities
Develops measures of success and key milestones, generates and/or identifies sources of data for projects, initiatives and deliverables
Utilizes reports and scorecards to demonstrate and communication progress towards objectives and milestones and identify gaps or issues, recommend changes and support decisions
Leads matrix meetings to understand engagements that align with strategy and move team toward goal
Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional/cross border teams toward a shared vision of success
Partners with vendors/suppliers understands contracts in alignment with SLAs and tracks towards measurement
List of Minimum Position Requirements/Competencies:
BA/BS Degree required; Master Degree preferred; 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with understanding of KOL/Thought Leader Engagements; Project Management experience preferred
Approximately 25% Travel
Leadership and/or Therapeutic Area/Worldwide Medical/R&D/Commercial experience preferred
Outstanding business acumen;
Strong interpersonal/written communication and presentation skills to facilitate relationships with stakeholders, peers and management
Leads by example, displaying integrity, collaboration, accessibility, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, and solutions-oriented attitude
Leverages analytical/strategic skills to synthesize complex information, distill critical insights to inform brand strategy, and translate to tactical level
Delivers results regarding financial & budget management; Proficient in software that must be used independently including Microsoft Office, Ariba, SAP, Veeva,
Excellent planning, prioritization, management, and organizational skills; Proven ability to manage multiple projects with often quick changes
Proven track record collaborating with large cross functional/cross border matrix teams and internal/external customer focused; must be able to work and collaborate in team environment
Demonstrates an innovative mindset and implements creative solutions to simplify processes and improve consultant/end-user experience
