Position Summary

Under Armour has an exciting position to fill as the Director of Innovation Operations, who will drive strategic optimization and execution of the Innovation Portfolio. The Director develops and directs project management, operations, and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects and programs by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. They will oversee the systemic integration of our strategic direction and our end-to-end processes for the Innovation team to ensure business objectives are being met on-time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strong partnership with the Chief Innovation Officer and Innovation Leadership team to systemically drive strategic innovation initiatives, decision making, organization of general business practices and strategy execution

Responsible for driving collaboration and alignment between Innovation, Product and Design, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Marketing on the strategy and the subsequent execution of that strategy

Drive partnership and process diligence with Brand Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Consumer Experience to create and maintain consumer centric strategies and opportunities based on customer & sport / athlete insights

Establish, optimize and be able to evolve & improve innovation processes to ensure teams are operating at efficiently with strong execution and on-time delivery

Facilitate Operating Model and Gate Committee processes for the Innovation team to ensure commitment to milestones and execute against the Innovation project plans

Partner cross-functionally to develop vision and roadmap for Innovation operating model, building long-term strategic and financial plans to deliver against our internal and external consumers needs; ensure prioritization against business objectives

Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure innovation platforms and technologies are campaigned and delivered on time and on specification consistently

Keep Innovation functions accountable to goals and committed actions by coordinating measurement plans & reporting against program KPI’s

Improve transparency of the Innovation project roadmap & calendar to drive towards and against the Long-Range Plan

Drive operational efficiency within Innovation by developing tools, use of measurement/scorecards, and best practices to streamline and structure innovative output

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

A good understanding of Innovation processes, culture & dynamics and in managing project pipelines

A strong ability to navigate and build relationships in a dynamic, highly matrixed environment

Ability to lead, build and develop Innovation operations and project management teams

Ability to lead cross functional teams toward corporate strategies and initiatives

Established relationships at all levels, inclusive of the executive level

Excellent project / program management skills

A natural strategic problem-solver

Expert knowledge of standard processes of program management and ability to drive standardization and process efficiencies

Excellent presentation skills, inclusive of written and oral communications.

Strong quantitative skill set, numbers-driven, works well with data

A reputation for outstanding leadership, team building and recruiting. Proven ability to attract top talent from outside the organization, while developing strong teams within.

An ability to lead through influence by forming productive relationships cross-functionally with our leadership team

Work under pressure quickly, effectively, and efficiently

Deadline and detail orientated

Creative and strategic thinker

Willingness to challenge mainstream thinking

Education And / Or Experience

12 years of prior working experience in Operations, Project Management and/or Strategy

Deep understanding of Portfolio Project Management and supporting tools and systems

Understanding of current industry trends in product lifecycle management

Experience working for either a startup or a high-growth organization is a plus

Experience conducting business and partnering with executives and staff in multiple regions globally, a plus

Other Requirements

Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.

Return To Work Designation: 2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.

Travel: IE- 5-10% of the year

Licenses/Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification is highly desired
