Responsibilities
The purpose of the Director, Strategy Advancement, Chief of Staff to the SVP, Employer Group is to work with the Employer Group leadership team on segment strategies. Advises and makes recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance in the Employer Group Regional Teams, Sales Practices, Product, Actuary and Underwriting areas, as well as stakeholders within and outside the Group Segment.
Focused on optimizing the operating model of the Employer Group (EG) Leadership Team while serving as an instrumental leader in achieving the EG team's Scorecard Outcomes and executing the Group Growth Strategy.
Responsibilities
Provides end-to-end support to SVP, Employer Group including but not limited to cross -functional coordination with her leadership team and key aligned partners on all initiatives, communications, and executive reporting. Key member of the Employer Group Leadership team. Represents the SVP, Employer Group as needed.
Builds relationships with executives and senior leaders across the Group segment and with key business partners supporting the Group Market Operating Model.
Assumes leadership of complex strategic initiatives that are broad in scope. Identifies opportunities and leads large scale initiatives and programs for the segment from the conceptualizing through implementation.
Provides visibility and coordination of all large-scale initiatives within the Group Segment: Actuary, Underwriting, Product, Group Regions, Sales Enablement, Large Group Practice, Small Business Practice and Specialty Practice
Actively engages in strategy execution to deliver business critical outcomes that advance our 1.7M Medical Member BHAG and Specialty Growth Strategy Execution to double sales by 2025
DRI of Group GTM Work Stream ensuring all Pricing and Sales-focused objectives and key results are defined and achieved, including oversight of aligned partner dependencies.
Leads efforts to drive alignment to GMS Segment & Partner Scorecards; including stronger integration and streamlined reporting and operating cadence
Leads implementation and change management to execute the new Employer Group Segment Operating Model
Leads development and execution of Implementation Plan across vertical workstreams, supported by Change Management, Communication and Talent
Leads the Regional Structure workstream to fully implement new market and regional structure, including Project North Star Sales Model
Partners with Regional Presidents and Practice Leaders to continuously optimize operating model at all levels of the organization
Actively engages EG Leadership Team in strategy development and execution in order to achieve 100% of EG Scorecard Outcomes
Drive quarterly and annual process to define priority objectives, targeted outcomes and accountabilities across team and aligned partners; including Scorecard development and cascade
Orchestrate leadership operating cadence to ensure time is focused on most critical issues to achieving scorecard outcomes while increasing productivity and driving a strong sense of urgency.
Leads Strategic Advancement Advisor who supports EG Leadership Operating Cadence (weekly Topicals, Tactical Action Items, quarterly offsite, Townhalls, etc.); as well as executive-level reporting including weekly MT Huddle, Meet Week, and other miscellaneous requests and orchestrates Medical GTM workstreams.
Assumes a leadership position in promoting strong team health, particularly with Employer Group Leadership Team; but also key contributor to initiatives that strengthen the culture and improves the associate experience within the Employer Group organization in partnership with GMS Culture Team and GMS Communications, as well as key aligned partners including HR.
Required Qualifications
8 years experience in program management, management consulting or sales enablement.
5 years experience advising executives
5 years experience leading or influencing people.
Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus.
Motivated self-starter; excited to work with cross-functional team members to execute against an end-to-end program scope
Strategic mindset with critical thinking skills to connect disparate dots and overcome ambiguity. Ability to evaluate and solve problems with rigorous logic that pushes beyond the obvious to uncover root cause issues and creative solutions
Adept at forming strong relationships with diverse teams and personalities through effective trust building and collaboration . Strength in persuading multiple parties to align around one vision, and exudes the confident to drive execution and adoption.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (including reporting and presentations) with demonstrated ability to use language that is succinct and clear and, when appropriate, strengthens sales positioning and emphasizes customer value
Experience leading large projects and programs from the conceptualizing through implementation. Comfort managing several different initiatives at one time and prioritizing efforts that deliver the greatest return for the business, all while leveraging standard methodologies, tools and platforms. Experience driving large scale change initiatives. Track record of meeting deadlines and focusing on deliverables .
Experience leading and facilitating sessions where content is delivered and change management and adoption techniques are deployed
Intellectual curiosity with excellent listening skills and a passion for learning
Outcome orientation with the ability to use data to establish quantifiable success criteria and measure progress toward targeted results.
Additional Information
Louisville, KY is the preferred location but all U.S. locations will be considered if the candidate can work East coast hours.
