Job Summary

The Physical Security Assistant Manager provides management of Physical Security programs, systems, strategies, and its workplace security program to assigned region and businesses. The role serves as the subject matter expert supporting business partnerships, identifying security program opportunities, managing physical security systems, and solving physical security gaps and security concerns. Candidates will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to effectively plan for and implement physical security enhancements and other workplace security projects and initiatives. The candidate will build and maintain solid internal partnerships with key stakeholders to include Real Estate Services, Engineering, Health & Safety, Retail and other various business segment partners. This individual will also be responsible for engagement with external security consultants/vendors, physical security integrators and other parties as needed.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Manages and facilitates regional physical security projects, technical and/or operational efforts that cross functions, including the application of sound management techniques that manage costs, and improves people safety and business operations

Uses a risk-based approach to assess physical vulnerabilities and technical security gaps, deficiencies, and then develops appropriate remediation strategies

Partner with business leadership to understand business operations and objectives, socialize Workplace Physical Security Programs, and ensure business leaders are informed of Security resources, expertise, and guidance

Facilitate the delivery of physical security solutions that meet the needs of the business through alignment with business leadership, engagement with Security program leads and subject matter experts

Partner with Security program leads to ensure site-level application of enterprise policy, standards, and specifications

Establish a consistent workplace physical security program and security culture across assigned businesses within accountable region

Provide business leadership with interpretation of capital and operating expense impact related to onsite physical security enhancements

Provide business leadership with annual budgeting of security related costs, actively manage regional program within business-approved capital and operating expense forecasts

Manage relationships with third-party security vendors, oversee service agreements and performance management

Effectively communicate project and key deliverable status updates to leadership

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

5 years of relevant security experience in the private and/or public sector to include security risk management, intelligence, threat management, law enforcement and/or military while specifically implementing workplace security and physical security programs

Experience with the management and life cycle replacement of the following physical systems: Genetec, Avigilon, Galaxy, Bosch Access/Camera/Intrusion Systems

Experience with conducting physical security risk-based assessments

Experience with project management techniques and solutions

Experience working with third party vendors

Experience managing workplace security operations and programs while aggregating business requests surrounding security enhancements and providing subject matter expertise and guidance

Experience collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to effectively plan for and implement physical security enhancements and other workplace security projects and initiatives

Experience implementing and cost-effectively managing physical security programs

Demonstrated knowledge in reporting and metrics development

Up to 25%-50% Regional domestic travel

Bachelor's Degree
