A challenging project manager job is the spearheading of a modern electric utility. The modern electric utility industry was started somewhere in the red brick building on Pearl Street, near New York’s business center. Thomas Edison signaled to an electrician, and the electrician threw a switch. Immediately, incandescent lamps began to glow in homes and offices in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Thomas Edison signaled to an electrician, and the electrician threw a switch. Immediately, incandescent lamps began to glow in homes and offices in the surrounding neighborhoods. People remarked that Edison’s lamps gave a soft, even glow that was far more satisfactory than the hard, flickering light of gas jets.

The day’s triumph was the result of several years’ and hard work for Edison and his assistants. Edison first became interested in the possibilities of electric lighting in 1878, when he was thirty years old. In the following year, he demonstrated the first practical incandescent lamp. Then he turned his attention to developing the machinery and equipment necessary to make electric service available to people. This equipment included generators, power-distribution systems, devices to regulate and measure the flow of electric current, sockets, fuses, and many other things. Edison’s experiments and the Edison Electric Illuminating Company were financed by investors, by people who had faith in what Edison was trying to accomplish.

In a project career no special training was needed by workers in the early days of the electric power business. Workers needed only to be skilled with their hands, have a fair amount of ‘horse sense,’ and large measures of faith. Eventually, electrical companies were very interested on how to build nuclear power especially in the 1970s. lots more plants were established. Nuclear power remains for the foreseeable future, a irreplaceable component of the nation’s electric generation system even for a longer time.

The electric power industry is unique. It must produce its product the instant it is needed. Electricity cannot be packaged, wrapped, or stored. Therefore, in project management jobs, power plants must be able to provide peak consumer needs at any hour of the day or night. They must be prepared for surges and debilitating storms. After electricity is generated, it passes to a switchyard where voltage is increased to carry it through transmission lines to the substations and ultimately to the consumer. The United States is the largest producer of all kinds of electric power. Power plants use various methods to produce electricity; these include steam, water, or gas turbine power plants, nuclear energy power plants and windmills.

There is a need for energy administration teams to venture into new, innovative ways that can exploit energy power through a better cost-saving and efficient mean. By doing this clients are encourage to apply this method to maximize the energy in a more efficient way. In general the power companies have to focus its services into a more cost-efficient energy application for its industrial, commercial, agricultural and residential purposes. Certain establishments, like food houses, educational institutions, medical establishments, business centers and many other industries. These places have a constant need for energy supplies in order to sustain its continuing business operations.

Furthermore, advertising, and market research experts help to support industrial and commercial sales representatives, farm advisers, and the entire company operation. Market researchers are also involved with analyzing the ways consumers use electricity, and when they use is to help seek out new areas for energy conservation. Through the use of newspapers, magazines, radio and television, advertising people seek to make consumers aware of the way electric energy can be used economically and efficiently. Engineers are skilled to manage the planning of the increasingly sophisticated utility system and computer-oriented people qualified to do economic analysis from a technical viewpoint will be of growing importance to the electric utility industry. The design, development, and the production of equipment used to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity is done by electrical engineers. Power generators and transmission equipment are two of the most important elements that electrical engineers work with. The may handle the development phase, the installment, or the maintenance and improvement of old equipment. Nuclear engineers plan, design, and develop nuclear power plants and equipment, including the instruments and controls that produce nuclear energy.
