Advancement in Project Management
The field of project management has seen advancement over the last few years. Project management needs to focus on the various aspects of a project in order to complete the project successfully. Previously the projects were developed in four or five stages. These stages included project initiation stage, project designing or planning stage, project production or execution stage, project controlling and monitoring system and project completion stage. There have been instances of some projects that have been terminated without the execution of all the stages. This means that these projects were not planned and monitored in an appropriate way. Some projects had to go through the same stages again and again because of the lack of proper planning causing a delay in the completion of the project. This takes more time for a specific project to get completed on time. Nowadays with advanced techniques, special care is taken to avoid these problems.
Importance of Project Management
A project manager plays a very important role in managing the overall project. A project manager is a professional who is the key in the field of project management. The responsibilities of a project manager are immense as the whole project is dependent on him. Project managers are required in all fields, be it telecommunications, architecture, computer networking, software industry or construction industry. Design, production and service industries are various other fields in which project managers are required. A project manager should also take care of the time and cost of a particular project. It is the duty of a project manager to focus on quality of work and client satisfaction should be his main goal.
Stages in project development
There are basically five stages in the development of a project. These stages are mentioned below:
1. Initiation stage
2. Development and planning stage
3. Execution and production stage
4. Controlling and monitoring stage
5. Closing stage
All these stages have to be followed in a sequential manner to ensure that the project gets completed successfully and on time. However, the project manager must make sure that the quality of work is not compromised at any stage of the project.

Project management is very important in staring and completing any project. Project managers are also very important as they are responsible for successfully completing a particular project. The number pf project managers depend upon the scale of the project. A large scale project requires more managers. Project management and project managers are thus the heart and soul of any project.
